Okinawa Waves of blue sky and white clouds~

Before visiting the shrine, I stopped at the shrine's water purification pavilion. From the mouth of a bronze dragon, a stream of clear water gurgled softly, rippling the stone trough.
According to ancient ritual, people wash their hands and rinse their mouths here to cleanse themselves of worldly defilements and prepare to face the deities with a pure heart. This isn't just a simple act, but a process of transformation—a step from the mundane to the sacred.
Gazing at the dragon's demeanor, a sense of solemnity welled up within me. In East Asian culture, the dragon is the master of water, clouds, and rain. It guards this pure water, reminding us that true purity lies not just in the hands, but in the mind.
Only after traveling here did I understand—
every sip of water is a whisper from the divine realm, guiding us from the outer world to inner clarity.
