According to history, Wat Si Sa Thong was built in the Rattanakosin period during the reign of King Rama I. The Emerald Buddha was brought from Vientiane to be enshrined in Bangkok and the people of Vientiane migrated to settle in many places, such as in the area beyond the Tha Chin River in the current area of ​​Tambon Huai Tako.
