Phra Pathom Chedi

#GetDiscountsNoLuck

✨ #DriveAwayAndTakeABreakWithMind_madge takes you to experience the grandeur of Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom Province! 🙏🏻

A major landmark in Nakhon Pathom, it's more than just a tourist attraction. It's also a spiritual center and a center of the long history of Buddhism in Thailand. Located at Wat Phra Pathom Chedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, a first-class royal temple of the Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan type, it also holds the title of the tallest pagoda in Thailand, standing at 120.45 meters! Just the sight of the magnificent golden, bell-shaped Sri Lankan pagoda towering against the blue sky is enough to inspire faith and holiness.

In addition to paying homage to Phra Pathom Chedi, home to the relics of the Lord Buddha, we also walked around the magnificent cloisters surrounding the chedi. This architectural style reflects Buddhist art and stories that have been passed down since the Dvaravati period.

Don't miss the opportunity to pay your respects to Phra Ruang Rochanarit. The standing Buddha image in the attitude of granting forgiveness, enshrined in front of the northern viharn in front of Phra Pathom Chedi, is a sacred Buddha image revered by the people of Nakhon Pathom and believed to be extremely sacred. The temple grounds also offer many other interesting attractions, including the various viharns housing important Buddha images, as well as intricately decorated murals and sculptures. These include beautifully gilded door panels and ancient carved stone statues, all worthy of admiration.

For those who enjoy exploring art and history, the Phra Pathom Chedi Museum is also worth a visit, housing numerous artifacts excavated from Nakhon Pathom Province.
If you visit during the Phra Pathom Chedi Festival (every November), it's especially lively, offering shops, food, and a temple fair atmosphere that's hard to find today!
Visiting Phra Pathom Chedi Temple isn't just about making merit; it's about tracing the history and absorbing the beauty of Thai arts and culture. Whenever you visit Nakhon Pathom, don't forget to pay your respects at Phra Pathom Chedi! 🙏🏻
