Sala Loi Temple @Nakhon Ratchasima🙏🏻

Wat Sala Loi is located in Tambon Nai Mueang, Amphoe Mueang, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. It is an ancient temple with historical and religious significance. It was built by Thao Suranaree (Ya Mo) and Phraya Suriyadet (Plaat Thongkham) after their victory in the Battle of Thung Samrit against Chao Anuwong of Vientiane in 1827. According to legend, Thao Suranaree ordered her soldiers to build a pavilion-shaped raft to float along Lam Takong and prayed that if the raft got stuck anywhere, she would build a temple as a memorial. The raft ended up on the right bank of Lam Takong, which was an abandoned temple. Therefore, the ordination hall was built as the current Wat Sala Loi.

🏛 Highlights of Wat Sala Loi
• Ordination hall in the shape of a sailing ship: The ordination hall of the temple is built in a modified Thai art style in the shape of a sailing ship. Use local materials such as Dan Kwian terracotta tiles to decorate beautifully.
• Chedi containing the relics of Thao Suranari: Inside the temple, there is a chedi containing the relics of Thao Suranari, which is highly revered by the people of Korat and tourists.
• Artificial waterfall garden: Behind the temple, there is a garden that simulates a waterfall, with steam coming out, creating a cool atmosphere similar to being in a cold country. It is popular for taking pictures and relaxing.
