📍Address: Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province
Built during the Ayutthaya period in 1686 by a French engineer, it features a rectangular layout and a single moat. Some of the walls were converted into roads by the end of the reign of King Rama VI. Only the northern and eastern walls, approximately 100 meters long, remain intact. They sit atop an earthen rampart, with a brick spire in the shape of a sema stone. A fortress stands at the center of the city gate, and the walls remain in relatively good condition.
The Nakhon Si Thammarat City Wall was declared an ancient monument in the Royal Gazette on September 27, 1936.
🕰️ Opening Hours: Open 24 hours a day.
At night, markets and restaurants and bars line the city walls, giving the impression of traveling back in time to the Ayutthaya period.
🅿️: Parking is available along the roadside beside the city walls.
