Okinawa, Japan | Nakijin Castle Ruins: Stone Walls of the Kitayama Kingdom, Witnessing the Ryukyu Kingdom's Rise and Fall

Located in northern Okinawa Island, the Nakijin Castle Ruins served as the residence of the Kitayama King during the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Its stone walls, winding along the mountainside, are magnificent yet understated. Walking among the ruins, bathed in the blue sky and sea breeze, you can sense the grandeur of the castle's past.

Nakijin Castle was not only a military stronghold but also a political and cultural center. The Kitayama Kingdom flourished here until it was unified by the Chuzan King in the 15th century and became part of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Though the storms of history have long since faded, the stone walls remain, documenting the rise and fall of dynasties.
