Phra That Kham Kaen

Phra That Kham Kaen, Khon Kaen Province
🌿It is an important and sacred ancient site of Khon Kaen Province, reflecting the culture and faith of the Isan people. The chedi has an architectural style similar to Phra That Phanom, but is smaller in size, beautiful and simple, conveying its sacredness.

🙏 According to legend, the Lord Buddha traveled to the Isan region and stayed on a hillside. He gave the relics to 5 Arahants to enshrine in Laos and the current Isan region. One of the selected locations was an area with a large, old tree trunk. The 5 monks saw it as a sign that the tree trunk was suitable for enshrining the relics, so they built a chedi to cover the tree trunk and named it “Phra That Kham Kaen.”
