Reverse Holiday Travel: Jinling Town Hidden in the Suburbs of Nanning, an Irresistible Healing Poetic Countryside

After exploring all the bustling shopping districts and popular check-in spots in downtown Nanning, if there’s a place that can help you unwind and relax, Jinling Town in Xixiangtang District definitely ranks high—it’s my third time coming here specifically. Nanning is not just about the lively atmosphere of Zhongshan Road; this small town by the Yong River, filled with greenery and a slow pace, makes you not want to leave once you arrive. This time, besides the must-visit Jinling Ancient Town and Qingshuitan, we also unlocked several “locals-only” rural secret spots. If you want to escape the crowds and embrace nature during your holiday, be sure to save this Jinling Town guide~

🗺️ 2 Days 1 Night Holiday Highlights Route

Day 2: Jinling Village Wogan Orchard (seasonal) → Xingxian Village Ancient Wharf → Sanlian Village Rice Field Art Zone

🌟 Jinling Must-Visit: Savor the Ancient Town and Natural Charm

- 🏞️ Qingshuitan Scenic Area: Known as Nanning’s “Little Guilin,” a natural oxygen bar! The pond water is crystal clear, surrounded by green mountains, with dense bamboo groves on the shore. Sitting on a stone bench by the pond in the afternoon, listening to the wind and watching the water, the healing feeling is full. In autumn and winter, the water temperature is mild, and you can also enjoy wading in the shallow water.
- 🏮 Jinling Ancient Town: A century-old town by the Yong River, without excessive commercialization. The bluestone roads, old arcade buildings, and the old riverside wharf are full of traces of time. Visit the morning market early in the ancient town to buy fresh river seafood and local vegetables, experiencing the most authentic local life.
- 🌾 Sanlian Village Rice Field Art Zone: A rural painting with scenery all year round! In spring, the rice seedlings are lush green; in autumn, the rice waves turn golden, and there are creative rice field paintings. Standing on the viewing platform to take photos, you can easily capture “Japanese-style fresh” shots, perfect for bringing kids or friends for a picnic.

Other Unmissable Attractions

- 🧡 Jinling Village Wogan Orchard (December to March): A famous Wogan producing area in Nanning, with orange-yellow fruits hanging all over the hills during the ripening season. You can enter the orchard to pick fresh, juicy Wogan oranges that are sweet to the heart.
- ⛵ Xingxian Village Ancient Wharf: A more niche riverside secret than Jinling Ancient Town. The well-preserved stone steps of the ancient wharf extend to the Yong River. At dusk, watching the sunset reflect on the river surface, the shimmering waves create a very poetic scene.

🏡 Hidden Gems (Fewer People, Beautiful Scenery!)

- Lezhou Village Banana Grove: A vast banana plantation rolling like waves, with green leaves swaying in the wind. Walking along the field paths feels like stepping into a tropical painting, with photos naturally having a fresh filter.
- Jinling Reservoir: A niche leisure spot with lush vegetation around the reservoir. You can fish or camp (advance notice required). At night, you can see a sky full of stars, far from city light pollution.

💡 Holiday Travel Tips

- Autumn and winter (October to March) have cool weather, the best season to visit Jinling Town, avoiding the summer heat;
- The town’s attractions mainly feature rural and natural landscapes, so wear comfortable sneakers and casual clothes, and be sure to apply sunscreen;
- Try local specialties: Jinling roast duck (crispy skin and tender meat, with many old shops in town to choose from), wild river fish from the Yong River, and Wogan preserved fruit.

This small town hidden in the suburbs of Nanning lacks the noise of trendy spots but offers the most touching pastoral poetry and local life atmosphere. If you don’t want to squeeze into the crowds downtown during the holiday, come to Jinling Town, stroll slowly through the ancient town, wander the fields, and enjoy this “stolen half-day of leisure” feeling.
