Valley Town ~ Checheng Tour

The scenery of Checheng is different every season, like a flowing painting scroll. This time it was a day with a strong autumn atmosphere. The bald cypress trees beside the timber storage pond had turned yellow, and they shone brightly in the sunlight. Every time I arrive in Checheng, I take a walk by the pool first.

Checheng was once famous for its logging industry. The lakeside trail and the bicycle path along the Shuili River are all original wooden plank roads. There is a visitor center for consultation. Due to its small area, the famous attractions include: Checheng Railway Station, Old Street, Wood Industry Exhibition Hall, Wood Storage Pool, Mingtan Reservoir... It only takes 3 hours to go around the circle.

We went to the town store for a picnic to do some shopping, sat at wooden tables and chairs looking at the mountains and the blue sky, and tasted the delicious food we bought... Life can be so simple and easy; it happened to be a weekend holiday, and there were street performers performing in the car square, and an open-air music feast unfolded before our eyes.

If you have enough time, you can also ride along the bicycle path of Shuili Creek to Shuili. There are several viewing platforms along the way; you need to bring your own bicycle 🚴♀️!
