Cingjing Farm is like a secret fairy tale village hidden in Taiwan's mountains! Situated at an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters with a vertical drop of about 400 meters, the scenery here is breathtaking. Layers of mountains, vast grasslands, and European-style wooden cottages scattered throughout make it look like a postcard. Today, I spent the whole day exploring, feeding adorable sheep, watching an entertaining sheep show where the shepherd amused the crowd while shearing wool, and enjoying the thrilling equestrian show with knights galloping and horses leaping, reminiscent of medieval jousting tournaments. The cool weather, fresh air, high mountain tea, and sea of clouds make Cingjing a perfect place to slow down, breathe deeply, and dream.
1. Must-See Shows
The Sheep Show (weekends at 09:30/14:30) and Equestrian Show (weekends at 10:45/15:45) are extremely popular. It's recommended to arrive 30 minutes early to secure a good spot. The performances are lively and entertaining—definitely not to be missed!
2. Grassland Walking Route
Stroll from Green Green Grassland to Guanshan Pasture, where you'll be treated to magnificent mountain views and leisurely grazing sheep along the way. The wooden boardwalk is easy to walk on and soothing, perfect for taking photos as you go. However, the steep slopes and high altitude may be a bit challenging for those unaccustomed to hiking.
3. Climate Tips
With high altitude and cool mornings and evenings, remember to bring a jacket. Prepare rain gear, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes to tackle the unpredictable mountain weather and uneven terrain.
4. Food Recommendations
Don't miss the high mountain milk tea, Maqaw sausages, and Yunnan-style cuisine. The area around Small Swiss Garden offers plenty of dining options, making the scenery even more enjoyable with delicious food!
