📝 Personal experience
This is both an old factory and a popular IG scene. Walking into the building covered with vines and retaining old window panes at the door, you will be back to the golden age of oriental tea in a second. The tea factory has been producing tea for export since 1956, and later transformed into an organic demonstration base. It not only exhibits century-old tea-making machinery, but also continues to cultivate Ruby Tea and Assam tea in a friendly way.

I really enjoy walking here and smelling the tea fragrance. You can try and buy tea on the first floor, and there is also a tea-making process exhibition area with a nostalgic atmosphere. On the second floor is an organic restaurant with a wooden space. If you can make an appointment in advance, you can enjoy tea while enjoying the tea garden and mountain scenery, and then have a vegetarian meal, which is full of natural healing power ().

🍃 Highlights
• Instagram check-in old building: retro window panes + tea-scented vines, the atmosphere is overwhelming when taking photos
• Tea-making machine display: you can see the old-fashioned machines of the black tea production line, recreating the scene of "Cha Jin"
• Free tea tasting: you can try a variety of red jade and Assam on site, the tea fragrance is pure and smooth
• Make an appointment for a guided tour & vegetarian meal: you can sign up to learn about the cultivation method, tea tasting process and organic meal experience

🎒 Tips
• Opening hours: 08:00–17:00 (open all day)
• Make an appointment for a guided tour at least 3 days in advance; it is recommended to check the official website or call in advance
• Free admission to the tea factory, stay time is about 30 minutes–1 hour (including shopping and taking pictures)
• Advance reservations are required for the second-floor restaurant, guided tours, and vegetarian meals.

The Sun Moon Tea Factory is a perfect stop on your Sun Moon Lake trip, allowing you to savor the stories of tea-making and the vibrant greenery of the tea plantations while sipping tea. It's not just about taking beautiful photos; the warmth and cultural depth of a cup of tea are a must-do for a half-day itinerary. 🌱
