The restaurant was originally the residence of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation director during the Japanese colonial period. The site was once the base of the "Puli Sugar Factory's" worship platform. The torii gate, paired with the original worship platform site, preserves the historical context while incorporating modern creativity. ☀️
As the sunlight gently falls on a Puli afternoon, a large wooden torii gate stands before you, quietly welcoming travelers. In that moment, it feels as if something deep within your heart has been softly awakened. Without boarding a plane or dealing with jet lag, I find myself in Nantou, yet it feels like stepping into a corner of Kyoto.
Entering the Torii Tea House and Restaurant is like stepping into a slower rhythm of life. Paper cranes flutter gently nearby, ema plaques sway in the breeze, gravel paths crunch underfoot, and the soft whispers of the wind accompany the quiet murmurs around you. The world suddenly becomes still, leaving only the dialogue between your footsteps and heartbeat.
Tips for Families and Photo Enthusiasts:
• Free Entry: Visitors are welcome to explore and take photos without any admission fee, even if they don't dine at the restaurant. 📸
• Reservation Recommended: Seating is limited, especially during weekends, so it's best to book in advance. On weekdays, there are fewer people, making it easier to enjoy the serene atmosphere.
