Nanyang Medical Sage Temple Zhang Zhongjing Museum

The ticket for the Medical Sage Temple is 25 yuan. This place is actually the tomb of the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing. In these small houses around his tomb, there is nothing but political propaganda. However, in the Doctor's Cultural Park behind the tomb, there is a Zhang Zhongjing Museum, which is the real place for promoting the culture of the medical sage.
This Zhang Zhongjing Museum is magnificent, with a total area of more than 30,000 square meters. The museum has six floors. The first floor is the history of the development of Chinese medicine, which is under maintenance today and is not open. The second floor is a memorial hall. The third to sixth floors are Zhang Zhongjing Medical Culture Exhibition Halls.
Among them, the fourth floor's 'Eternal Medical Ancestor' is where we spent the most time. Here, it explains Zhang Zhongjing's Six Classics on Typhoid, the changes in internal organs and miscellaneous diseases, and the three causes of diseases.
According to the differentiation of the Six Classics, there are eight methods of treating diseases, namely: sweating, vomiting, purging, harmonizing, warming, clearing, reducing, and tonifying. These methods, combined with the theory of 'preventive treatment of disease,' establish a scientific and practical traditional Chinese medicine treatment system for external febrile diseases, internal injury miscellaneous diseases, and health preservation and disease prevention.
Here, we spent a long time combining what we had read in medical books, and there were also some main prescription showcases from the Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases nearby.
