⛩️ Todaiji Temple (Todaiji) means the Great Temple of the East. Located in Nara City, it is considered one of the oldest and most important historical sites in Japan and is also considered the temple with the most tourists visiting Nara.

⛩️ Todaiji Temple was built in 752. The important building of this temple is the large wooden hall, Daibutsuden, which enshrines the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), said to be the largest wooden building in the world. And it is also registered as a world heritage.

⛩️ Opening hours 8:00 - 17:00 Entrance fee to the Great Buddha Hall 500 yen, Todaiji Temple Museum 500 yen, or buy a combined ticket 800 yen

⛩️ Access: 20-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station or take a bus from in front of the station (many routes pass through) for about 5 minutes.
