Todai-ji (東大寺) Review

📍 Todai-ji (東大寺) Review

A must-visit landmark during your trip to Nara⛩️. Located within Nara Park, you naturally arrive at it while walking alongside the deer🦌. From the entrance, you can feel the majestic atmosphere, and the serene beauty unique to wooden architecture was truly impressive.

When you enter the main hall (Daibutsuden), the enormous Buddha statue immediately catches your eye, and seeing it in person is breathtakingly overwhelming🙏. The intricate carvings, the statues surrounding the Buddha, and even each pillar exude the passage of time. The interior is calm and quiet, giving a naturally soothing feeling.

The entrance fee was 600 yen for adults, and the place was well-maintained, making it overall very pleasant. The deer come right up close, making it great for sightseeing or taking photos📸. In front of the temple, there’s a shopping street where you can browse souvenirs or buy deer crackers, which was quite fun.

Overall, it’s a place that combines grand historical architecture, peaceful natural scenery, and coexistence with deer, making it a highlight of any trip to Nara✨.
