Sweet potato and young potato

Oimo Waka Imo (おいもわかいも) is a small cafe located on Higashimuki Shopping Street. This shop sells drinks and various sweet potato-related menus, such as baked sweet potato, sweet potato soft-serve ice cream, sweet potato Mont Blanc, sweet potato tempura, sweet potato cake, crispy sweet potato sticks.

We ordered sweet potato soft-serve ice cream and sweet potato tempura because we saw that most people were queuing up to buy them. It seemed like the shop's signature menu. We tried it and were not disappointed. The ice cream was soft and not too sweet, but the real highlight was the sweet potato tempura and crispy sweet potato that was served with it. The sweet potato tempura was fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salty and sweet flavors went incredibly well with the ice cream. Now we know why they are eaten together. It tastes so good!!!

If you want to follow in our footsteps, this shop has many branches all over Japan, but we ate at the branch on Higashimuki Shopping Street in Nara, near Nara Deer Park.
