Nara Tokae Candle Festival

The Nara Tokae Festival is a festival held in Nara Prefecture. It is a festival decorated with bright candles. It is held continuously for 10 days in early August every year.

This festival is held in various locations, consisting of 10 areas: Todaiji Temple, Kofukuchi, Iraka, Ukigumoenchi, Ukimido Hall, etc. In particular, Ukigumo Park is decorated with more candles than anywhere else, so it is said to be like the “Milky Way”.

📍How to get there: Get off at Kintetsu Nara Station or JR Nara Station.
