Todaiji Temple began as Jinzhongshan Temple built in the fifth year of Kamiki (728). Later Jinzhongji Temple was upgraded to Yamato Kingdom Kinguangji Temple, the predecessor of Todaiji Temple.

Todaiji Temple was built to pray for the blessings of Prince Moto, the crown prince of Emperor Shomu, so it became a place to pray for peace in the world. A place of happiness for all people.

Todaiji Temple has experienced war and the baptism of the times, and was rebuilt and restored during difficult times. It is so valuable to be lucky enough to see this huge building!

Its gate is tall, and the Buddha statues are also big. Just seeing the huge south gate and the statues makes people marvel. The national treasure Buddha statues and Guanyin statues in the Great Buddha Hall are also very solemn.

It is said that if you drill through the hole in the Big Buddha Hall (called the "Big Buddha Nostril"), you will be safe from illness and disaster. Many foreigners work hard to drill it, and the atmosphere is joyful😆
