Exploring Nara’s shrine paradise and chilling in Japan

Exploring Nara’s shrine paradise and chilling in the City? Let’s go! ⛩️🦌 Nara’s ancient temples and peaceful gardens were absolutely magical — seriously, every corner looks like it belongs on a postcard. Quebec City also brought the old-world vibes with stone streets and epic food. Here’s my hit list:

Top Spots to Visit in Nara:
- Kasugataisha Shrine (160 Kasuganocho, Nara, 630-8212; Mar–Oct: 06:30-17:30 / Nov–Feb: 07:00-17:00). Essential for anyone wanting spiritual feels and iconic lanterns!
- Wakamiya Shrine (same address). Don’t skip this hidden gem; it’s quieter and perfect for a mindful moment.
- Meoto Daikokusha (same address; 06:00-18:00 year-round). Couples, take pics here — it’s dedicated to marriage gods!
- Kasuga Taisha Kokuhoden Museum (same address; 10:00-17:00 daily). Get the story behind the awe-inspiring artifacts.
- Kinryu Shrine (same address; 06:00-18:00 year-round). A serene spot for reflection.
- Manyo Botanical Gardens & Nara Park. Most shrines are in/near Nara Park, so follow the deer for a chill walk between sights.

My Top Tips:
- Start early at Kasugataisha to beat crowds and catch morning light on the lanterns.
- The shrines are all close — you can cover them in one circuit by foot!
- Check shrine closing times (especially after Oct) — some open at dawn but close by sunset.
- The botanical gardens are a sweet escape if you need a break from temples.

Getting Around: Nara Park and shrines are walkable from Nara Station (10–20 min). Grab a bus if your feet need a rest! Don’t forget to bring small change for shrine offerings.

Food: Try local kakinoha sushi near the park! For snacks, look for sweet mochi stands outside shrines.
