Take the train from Songshan Railway Station to Ruifang Station, then transfer to the Pingxi Line to Shifen. As soon as you get off the train you'll find yourself in a very small street. Along the railway corridor there are many shops selling sky lanterns and many travel souvenirs.

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from Shifen Street and then take a suspension bridge to reach Shifen Waterfall.
If you have time, you can also get off at Houtong and go to the Cat Village. There are many cats and you can buy cat food to feed them.
