Houtong Cat Village, Taiwan

Houtong Cat Village is a super cute place in Taiwan that cat lovers shouldn't miss! This village is located in New Taipei City and I must say that it is full of cats walking around the village. The atmosphere is so chill and perfect.

In the past, this place was a coal mining village, but after the mining stopped, people took care of the cats and turned it into a full-fledged cat village! There is also a coal museum to visit.

The cats here are so cute and friendly. You can take pictures or play with them, but you have to respect the rules, such as not feeding them. There is also a cool cafe and a variety of cute cat-themed souvenirs to choose from, such as key chains, handmade items, and postcards.

A little tip: I recommend coming on a weekday when there are fewer people so you can take pictures comfortably. Also, be sure to check the train schedule so you don't miss the train there or back.

🗓️Travel planning: Take the Yilan Line from Taipei Main Station and get off at Houtong Station. It takes about 1 hour.
