Caoling Historic Trail: A Scenic Mountain and Water Experience

Caoling Historic Trail is a trail that connects Yuanwangkeng in Gongliao District, New Taipei City, with Dali Mountain Area in Toucheng Township, Yilan County. It is part of the ancient Tamsui-Kavalan Trail's northern route.

We only walked a section of the Caoling Historic Trail, from Dali Train Station to the dirt road connecting to the trail. If it's the season for silvergrass, the sight of the silvergrass swaying freely against the backdrop of the sea and sky will surely captivate you. It's truly a great itinerary for leisurely walks and beautiful photos.

Be sure to include a visit to a scenic restaurant with an ocean view to enjoy fresh seafood in your itinerary. And don't forget to save some room for the famous Yilan scallion pancakes!
