Thinking of admiring the cherry blossoms at Tianyuan Palace, the Yoshino cherry trees are now 70% to 80% in bloom, so these days are the best time to enjoy the cherry blossoms. Following the blooming of cherry blossoms at the beginning of the year, and the hot and cold weather in February, Yoshino cherry blossoms can't wait to bloom as soon as the weather warms up.
The Yoshino cherry trees at Tianyuan Temple are grafted onto mountain cherry trees, allowing the delicate Yoshino cherry trees to better adapt to Taiwan's climate. Around the main hall and the Temple of Heaven, a sea of pink flowers reflects the blue sky and the palace and temple buildings, and rhododendrons are also in bloom.
Back to the history of Wuji Tianyuan Palace, it is said that more than 40 years ago, employees of the Port Authority received instructions from a spirit medium in their dormitory, and later eight believers decided to establish the Tianyuan Palace together. The Babalongchi well was dug and a statue of the Wuji Patriarch was carved to save all living beings with Taoist teachings.
Today, Tianyuan Temple is not only a popular religious center, but also one of the best spots for cherry blossom viewing in Greater Taipei. It is said that it started with a believer donating two Yoshino cherry trees, and volunteers began to plant mountain cherry blossoms. Originally, a large number of electric poles blocked the view of the cherry blossoms, so after the volunteers and the temple raised funds, they began to move the electric poles underground a few years ago to better display the beauty of the cherry blossoms in spring. Therefore, this beautiful scenery from January to April is full of the love of the temple and volunteers.
