Tianyuan Temple in Tamsui, a sea of pink cherry blossoms in the greater Taipei area

#Taipei Sakura

Although the Tianyuan Temple in Tamsui is extremely far away, it is a well-known cherry blossom viewing spot in Taipei. The pagoda-shaped Tianyuan Temple is the background, and the blooming pink wild cherry blossoms are the foreground. With such a beautiful composition, it is no wonder that there are crowds of people every time the cherry blossoms are in full bloom!

After the Chinese New Year, from the end of January to the middle of February, the three-color cherry blossoms on the back hill of Tianyuan Palace will be the first to bloom. However, it is easy to rain at this time, or it will be a gray and cloudy day, which makes it not so beautiful to take pictures.

However, from March to April, it is the turn of the Somei Yoshino cherry trees around the Temple of Heaven to bloom, dyeing the world red with pink flowers. The weather in March is stable, so there are more opportunities to photograph the pink sea of cherry blossoms under the blue sky and white clouds.

Due to the large number of people during the flower season at Tianyuan Temple, traffic control is often implemented. Another option is to take public transportation. You can take the MRT to Tamsui Station, then transfer to the cherry blossom shuttle bus, or bus 875-877 to get to Tianyuan Temple. However, you must be prepared to wait in line.
