Xuchang Dong Guifei Garden is located at the intersection of Weiwen Road and Bayi Road in Xuchang, Henan Province, covering over 50 mu (approximately 16 acres). Built on the site of the tomb of Dong Guifei, a Three Kingdoms-themed leisure park, the park features a stone tablet at the main entrance, inscribed with the powerful characters "Guifei Garden." Nestled beneath verdant pines, the stone tablet depicts a mother-and-child stone lying on the ground. Dong Guifei was five months pregnant when she was murdered, hence the name of the stone tablet.
Upon entering the park, you'll see a towering tomb: the tomb of Concubine Dong. Walking through a stone path through the forest, you'll arrive at the tomb, where you'll see lush vegetation and flowers, and a masonry foundation. The tomb, standing 10 meters high, was originally quite large, but due to lack of effective conservation, it fell into disrepair and, in some cases, local residents dug up the tomb to extract soil, gradually shrinking its size.
The foundation of the imperial concubine's tomb is now built of brick and stone, and is surrounded by white marble railings, providing excellent protection. As we ascend the stone steps and circle the railings, we see the panels adorned with phoenixes, cranes, swallows, rocks, and peonies. The ancient auspicious beasts of Pi Xie and Tian Lu guard the tomb to the north and south, respectively, while the four spiritual spirits of Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird, and Black Tortoise protect it from the elements. The scene is a solemn and magnificent spectacle.
With a warm temperate subhumid monsoon climate, the park emphasizes ecology, culture, and modernity, integrating leisure, entertainment, and fitness. It is suitable for travel in all seasons.
The main tourist attractions in Dong Guifei Garden include the tomb of Dong Guifei, the Five Animal Play Park, Ruyi Lake, the Landscape Water System Square, the Guifei Pavilion, and the Citizen Fitness Square.
It is recommended to play for about 1 hour.
