Fuguijiao Lighthouse - Shimen District, New Taipei City

Fuguijiao Lighthouse, located in Shimen District, New Taipei City, is an octagonal concrete structure with black and white stripes. It is the northernmost lighthouse on Taiwan's main island. The lighthouse was completed in 1897 and was rebuilt in 1962 into its current octagonal shape. Initially, the lighthouse was not open to the public, but it has been accessible since 2015, although the lantern room remains closed to visitors. From the observation deck, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Taiwan Strait. During the day, you can see the blue sea and sky, and at dusk, you can witness the spectacular sight of the sun setting behind the lighthouse, creating the illusion of a giant flaming lamp.
