Looking for a hiking spot in Wulai that’s not too exhausting? Neidong is definitely the top choice! The area is famous for its stunning waterfalls, and the trails are exceptionally well-designed—mostly flat and easy to walk on. It’s perfect for bringing along elderly family members or kids. 🌲💧
One thing to keep in mind is that mosquitoes are more prevalent during summer, so don’t forget to apply insect repellent. Also, since it’s in a mountainous area, the weather can change quickly, and there might be occasional light rain. Bringing an umbrella or raincoat is a good idea!
💦 Atmosphere/Facilities:
As soon as you enter the park, you’ll feel the incredibly fresh air filled with phytoncides—it’s so refreshing! The main trail is the "Waterfall Viewing Trail," which runs alongside a stream. You’ll hear the soothing sound of flowing water throughout the walk.
The trail’s highlight is the "Neidong Waterfall," featuring upper and lower tiers with abundant water flow. Standing on the viewing platform, you’ll feel the refreshing mist and negative ions—it’s like nature’s air conditioning, especially during summer! Just being there, listening to the waterfall, is incredibly therapeutic. 😌
For those with more stamina, you can challenge the "Forest Bathing Trail" nearby. It involves climbing some stairs but offers higher vantage points to appreciate the forest from different angles.
