Statue of Liberty, Liberty for all.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1876. Located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, the island houses a museum showcasing the history of its construction, design, and internal structure. After the events of September 11, the crown was no longer open for viewing, but the lower part remains accessible.

The Statue of Liberty was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, and its steel frame was designed by Eugene Viollet-le-Duc and Gustave Eiffel, who also designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Statue of Liberty consists of 350 individual pieces that were transported from France, disassembled, and then assembled in the United States. It took approximately four months to complete the assembly. The base was built by the United States.
