The American Museum of Natural History, located on the west side of Central Park, is one of the largest and most renowned natural science museums in the world.
With over 32 million artifacts, the museum covers a wide range of topics including dinosaurs 🦖, mammals, marine life, minerals, indigenous cultures, and cosmic science. Among its most captivating exhibits are the massive dinosaur fossil skeletons, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex and Brachiosaurus, which transport visitors back to the Jurassic era.
This museum also served as the filming location for the first installment of the movie "Night at the Museum." Walking through its halls, you might feel as though the characters from the film could suddenly come to life, adding a touch of whimsy to your visit. The iconic Moai statue 🗿 is also housed here.
Beyond the dinosaur exhibits, the Hayden Planetarium and Earth Hall are equally fascinating, offering interactive technologies that deepen understanding of the mysteries of the universe and our planet. The museum is not just a place for displays but also an educational and entertaining learning environment.
We spent half a day exploring and still couldn't cover everything. The exhibits are rich and full of surprises, making it a perfect destination for both adults and children to find topics of interest. It's a must-visit for families and science enthusiasts in New York. We recommend setting aside an entire day to fully explore this magical and knowledge-filled museum.
