With a collection of approximately 3 million pieces, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest art museums in the world.
Located right next to Central Park, it's a great way to efficiently visit both museums.
Only about a quarter of the collection is on display, and with the exception of the permanent exhibition, the exhibits change frequently, making it enjoyable no matter how many times you visit.
It's a familiar museum, as Japanese art museums have also held exhibitions of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It's impressive to see so many of the world's most famous paintings, many of which you may have seen in textbooks.
It's so large and filled with so many masterpieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to visit.
