Sun Messe Nichinan in Miyazaki Prefecture is a tourist spot established in 1996 with the hope of revitalizing the village and promoting peace. In 1992, when a Japanese company cooperated in the restoration of the Moai statues on Easter Island, permission was granted to remake the Moai statues, and the current location of Sun Messe Nichinan in Miyazaki Prefecture was chosen as the construction site. Sun Messe Nichinan opened at the same time as the Moai statues were completed.
