When I went to Nikko, I went to Chuzenji Temple ☺️

Chuzenji Temple was founded by Shodo Shonin in 784 AD and is a branch temple of Nikkozan Rinnoji Temple.

The main image of the standing tree Kannon, the Thousand-Armed Kannon statue, is said to have been carved by Shodo Shonin himself from a standing Katsura tree, and for this reason it is also called "standing tree Kannon".

A substitute burl tree in the garden of Chuzenji Temple, located around the main hall of Chuzenji Temple.
It is an old substitute tree that is said to take on illnesses and suffering in place of your family and yourself.

Going all the way to the back and up, there was a hall on a hill called Godaido.
I was told that if you pay a prayer fee, the tree will pray for your wishes every morning for a year.

It's very beautiful during the autumn leaves season,
