Xinglong Temple is located southwest of Bohai Town, Ning'an City, Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province. It was originally built during the reign of Da Qinmao, the third king of the Bohai Kingdom in the Tang Dynasty. Inside the temple, the large stone Buddha, carved from basalt, is a national first-class cultural relic. The stone lantern pillar, standing 6 meters tall and composed of 12 sections, is the only complete large stone carving preserved from the Bohai Kingdom period. In addition, there are millennium-old turtle pedestals, ancient trees, and the millennium-old temple site—these "five millennia" relics make Xinglong Temple an important place for studying the history and culture of the Bohai Kingdom.
