Ninghai Shenzhen Town, Ningbo, Zhejiang
The Chedi Ninghai is nestled in the Tianming Mountains of Ninghai County, a national ecological demonstration zone, adjacent to a national forest park with 93% vegetation coverage, surrounded by lush green mountains and dense bamboo forests. From Hangzhou/Shanghai, it's just a 1.5 to 2.5-hour high-speed train ride, or a 1.5-hour drive from Ningbo. The hotel offers golf cart transfers for easy exploration of its various areas.
As the first Chedi hotel in China, it was co-created by the founder of Aman, drawing design inspiration from three natural elements: bamboo forests, hot springs, and valleys. Embracing a "light intervention" philosophy, the architecture blends seamlessly into nature, preserving the original landscape to the fullest. Details like sloped bamboo roofs, wooden lattice screens, and bamboo pendant lights artfully merge traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern minimalism.
Nanxi Ge Restaurant: A bamboo-themed space by the stream, where you can enjoy a fusion Chinese-Western breakfast accompanied by the sounds of flowing water and birds. The main meals feature a blend of Chinese and Western cuisine, with Ninghai local dishes and seafood as the highlights! Must-tries include the signature drunken mantis shrimp, slow-braised fish head, and duck soup with bamboo shoots and goji berries, all made with organic, locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, the hotel boasts a wine cellar, cigar lounge, and a starlit children's cinema, catering to the leisure needs of diverse guests.
