The Donghai County Science and Technology Museum, opened in April 2009, boasts a floor area of 10,800 square meters and is the largest and most comprehensive venue for youth science and technology activities in northern Jiangsu. Its exhibits, focusing on crystal formation and hot spring formation, highlight Donghai's unique local characteristics and are unique among youth activity centers nationwide.
The museum features four science and technology exhibition halls: Nature Exploration, Science and Technology Experience, Mathematical Light, and Health Paradise. It also houses a 160-person dome theater (planetarium) and an astronomical observatory. The exhibits in the halls combine entertainment with educational activities while maintaining the local characteristics of Donghai. Since its opening, nearly 100,000 young people have received science education.
