Can you believe it? Hidden deep in the mountains of eastern Zhejiang lies a "Dragon Palace". Traveling all the way from Beijing's Chaoyang District, I stumbled upon a real-life Peach Blossom Spring?
How to get from Chaoyang to Longgong Village
✈️ By plane: Beijing Chaoyang to Ningbo Lishe Airport (2.5 hours), then take a 1.5-hour taxi ride straight to the village - perfect for those wanting a quick escape from the city.
🚄 By high-speed rail: Take the train from Chaoyang Station to Ningbo Station (6.5 hours), transfer to Ninghai Bus 602 to Qiantong Town, then a 20-minute taxi ride to the village - enjoy views of rice fields and mountain streams along the way.
Where to stay?
🏡 Longgong Village homestays: ¥150-400/night, renovated old wooden houses with bamboo forests and waterfalls right outside your window. Hosts serve delicious stream fish tofu soup.
🏨 Ninghai Jinhai New Century Grand Hotel: ¥500-800/night, a luxury option in the county town featuring hot spring pools, about 1 hour's drive from the village.
What to do?
▪️ Stream exploration: Wade into Longgong Stream in sandals - catch crabs in shallow areas or witness the "Dragon Palace Waterfall" cascading down cliffs, often creating rainbows in the mist.
▪️ Ancient village discovery: Admire fish-dragon carvings on wooden windows in the century-old quadrangle "Sanjin Hall", and hear elders share the "Dragon Maiden Guardian" legend under the 500-year-old yew tree at the village entrance.
▪️ Stargazing camping: Pitch tents on the village's back lawn - summer nights reveal the Milky Way as you fall asleep to the symphony of frogs and waterfalls.
Is it worth visiting? If you're tired of overcrowded ancient towns and seek a place to wade barefoot in streams and sleep to the sound of rushing water, this is your answer.
