The Lushan Museum is located on the shores of Lulin Lake in Lushan, at the foot of Jiuqi Peak. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and backed by Lulin Lake, it boasts breathtaking scenery. This was where Comrade Mao Zedong once lived during his time in Lushan, known as the Lulin Villa . Because the villa was numbered "1," it's also known as " Lulin No. 1. "
The collections inside reflect the glorious history and culture of Lushan. There are rubbings of handwritten inscriptions on Lushan stone tablets by famous Tang and Song calligraphers such as Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Mi Fu, and Huang Tingjian, and scrolls of calligraphy and paintings by famous Ming and Qing calligraphers and painters such as Tang Yin, Zheng Banqiao, and Zhu Da. The most precious ones are the "Picture of Five Hundred Arhats", the "Avatamsaka Sutra" written in blood, and crystal Buddhist beads, all of which are national first-class cultural relics.
In addition, Lushan Museum also displays ancient pottery, jade, bronze, gold and stone carvings, coins from various dynasties, crystal jewelry, handicraft treasures and other toys unearthed locally and collected from other places.
