A 60-meter-high cave
Legend has it that during the Heian period, the Kumano Navy, famous for the Genpei War, hid their ships in this cave. The shrine inside is dedicated to Muroo Daibenzaiten, making it a renowned spiritual energy spot.
The cave is cool and comfortable, allowing visitors to experience the thrilling sensation of waves crashing and receding up close. It's also a great spot for photography and videography.
Open year-round: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Last entry at 4:50 PM)
Address: 2927-52 Shirahama-cho, Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture, 649-2211, Japan.
