Penang in summer😍

Penang in the summer? Let me just say this, I felt like a roasted chicken most of the time🔥🍗 The sun was not shy at all, and I probably melted into the pavement more than once. BUT… despite the heat, I genuinely fell in love with the place.
I spent hours just wandering through the old streets of George Town. The buildings were full of character peeling pastel paint, wooden shutters slightly crooked with age, faded signs that have probably been there longer than I’ve been alive. There’s a certain softness to it all, like the city is gently holding its history for you to see. And the shops????? So cute I almost cried. Tiny local boutiques selling handmade crafts, secondhand bookstores with creaky floors, cafes hidden behind old wooden doors. I didn’t even need to buy anything just being there, looking around, was enough. At some point I grabbed a giant cup of blended ice (life-saver!) and sat on a bench under some shade, just people-watching and trying to exist without turning into soup but it does turning into a soup🍧😵💫
There was a sleepy, slow kind of beauty in everything. Even the grumpy cat I met at one shop felt like part of the story. Nothing rushed. Just moments unfolding.
Penang didn’t need to be flashy or perfect, it felt real, warm, and quietly magical.
Even if I was sweating the whole time, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Love this place😍
