Day trip to Nusa Penida: Breathtaking Views, Zero Regrets

🚤 Getting There

We started the day at Sanur Jetty, catching a fast boat to Nusa Penida. The ride took around 40 minutes, and it was smooth and breezy. While waiting for the boat, I grabbed a local fruit popsicle from one of the small stalls. Its cold, refreshing, and honestly perfect for the warm Bali morning.

🚗 Arriving in Nusa Penida

Once we arrived at the port, our local driver was already waiting for us. Super friendly and easygoing, he made the trip stress-free from the start. The roads around Nusa Penida are a bit narrow and bumpy in places, but the views along the way make up for it.

🏝️ Diamond Beach

Our first stop was Diamond Beach and it really lives up to the hype. From the top, the view is unreal: clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and dramatic cliffs all around. We didn’t go down to the beach because the trail looked steep and not super safe, but honestly, the view from the top was more than enough. It’s the kind of place where you just stand still and go “wow.”

🍽️ Lunch at BQ Restaurant

After all the walking and photo-taking, we had lunch at BQ Restaurant. The place has a chilled vibe, nice views of the sea, and good local food. It was clean, not crowded, and a great spot to cool down before continuing the trip.

🌊 Kelingking Beach

Next up was Kelingking Beach, probably the most famous spot in Nusa Penida. The cliffs are huge and dramatic, and the beach down below looks wild and untouched. We didn’t hike down (the trail is really steep), but again, just being at the top was already an experience. It’s one of those places that makes you feel small in the best way.

⛴️ Heading Back

By late afternoon, we made our way back to the port and caught the fast boat back to Sanur. The boat ride back was calm and gave us a chance to rest after the full day of exploring.

🌟 Final Thoughts

If you only have one day to explore, Nusa Penida is 100% worth it. The views are insane, the spots are unforgettable, and even if you skip the hikes, just standing at those cliffs feels like something out of a dream. It’s the kind of day that leaves your phone full of photos and your mind full of memories.
