The last active sleeper express train, the Sunrise

I rode it on March 2nd.

The Sunrise is the last active sleeper express train, connecting Tokyo and Izumo City, and Tokyo and Takamatsu. (Seto runs to Kotohira on some days of the week)

I rode in a private compartment called a single on this train.

The private compartment isn't very spacious, but it's nicely decorated and comes with a shower room. (You need to purchase a shower card to use it)

It also passes through stations such as Shin-Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya, so you can enjoy a different kind of train journey.
