Amamichaya, a renovated traditional house near Yufuin Station, is a popular lunch spot where you can experience Oita's home-style cooking. The roast beef and tempura set I ordered this time was particularly impressive. The roast beef was thinly sliced, tender, and juicy. The special soy sauce and savory wasabi added to create a clean yet rich flavor. The tempura, with its shrimp and vegetables, was crispy and light, without being greasy. The accompanying dangojiru (steamed rice cake soup) was a heartwarming experience, with a miso-based base, chewy flour dumplings, and vegetables. The restaurant boasts a homey, elegant atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely lunch while immersing yourself in a Japanese atmosphere.
