World Cultural Heritage Itsukushima Shrine ~ Hiroshima and Miyajima

The national treasure Itsukushima Shrine was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1996. Its symbol is undoubtedly this large torii gate ⛩ You can get a real sense of its size by standing underneath it. In fact, the plaque facing the shrine building says "Itsukishima Shrine" and on the opposite side it says "Itsukushima Shrine".
