Take a boat tour around Dotonbori in the city 🛥

When you come to Osaka, Dotonbori is definitely one of the must-visit spots. Although this is Avocado Mom’s third time in Osaka, of course she has to come here again to take photos and check in as a souvenir with her mother who is visiting Osaka for the first time.

In the previous two travel notes, we mentioned that we bought a two-day OSAKA AMAZING PASS. It turns out that we can also use it in Dotonbori, and it is a good experience in the downtown area. It is the Dotonbori Water Sightseeing Boat.

When I visited Dotonbori before, I saw other people taking this boat for sightseeing, but I thought the boat ticket must be very expensive, so I didn’t take the time to find out more. I didn’t expect that the tour pass would have this item, so of course I have to seize the opportunity to experience it.

We arrived in the evening on the first day, but unexpectedly there were a lot of people taking the boat. The ticket seller said that all the tickets for that day had been sold out, so we returned empty-handed. As a result, we came to exchange tickets early at noon the next day and finally succeeded. However, even if you exchange the ticket, you cannot board the ship immediately. While waiting, we went to Chi-An for a stroll, took photos with the "Runners", and ate Ichiran and Takoyaki. Seeing that the time was almost up, I went to find the boarding point early.

Compared to the Santa Maria we took yesterday, this water sightseeing boat is small and moves through the narrow river. Sitting on the boat and looking back at the lively scenes on both sides, I feel a very special visual sense. The most special thing is that we will pass a low bridge, and the boatman will remind us to bend down when crossing the bridge below. At that moment, the boatman actually jumps onto the bridge to cross the bridge, and then jumps back into the boat to continue rowing. It is a simple and magical skill 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
