Columbus River Cruise in Osaka

#tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี

Santa Maria – is the name of a ship that has historical significance as the largest ship in the fleet that Christopher Columbus sailed the Atlantic Ocean to discover America. Although the ship was later sunk and nothing remains except for a ship hook that is now displayed in a museum in Haiti, we can still experience the atmosphere of the discovery of the new world on the Santa Maria, a replica of the real one in Osaka, Japan. Put yourself in Columbus’ shoes and take a cruise to see the scenery along the Ajigawa River.

⛵ Location

The port is located next to the Kaiyukan Aquarium in Tempozan Harbor Village. The nearest station is Osakako Station, which is served by the Chuo Line Metro. There are waiting areas in the ticket booth for the ship. With a drink vending machine for your convenience.

⏰ Service times

☀️ Day Cruise - 45 minutes per cruise, departing every hour from 11.00 - 16.00 hrs.

🌙 Twilight Cruise - 60 minutes per cruise. The cruise route is longer than the Day Cruise. The schedule changes according to the season to match the time you can watch the sunset. It is not available every day.

For us, we chose the Day Cruise. This Santa Maria ship is a replica that is twice as large as the real one. It looks beautiful, spacious and magnificent. It may lack some "magical" charm because it is brand new and has bright colors that give it a childlike feel, similar to a ride boat in an amusement park. But it looks cute and photogenic in a different way, especially the Christopher Columbus model standing in command at the back of the ship. When you see it, you have to stop and take a picture. In terms of scenery, the highlight of the Day Cruise should be the bright red Minato Bridge and the giant Tempozan Ferris Wheel. On a clear day, it's fun to climb up to the deck of the ship to enjoy the view and the breeze. The lower floor is a cabin with glass windows, perfect for cold weather. #OsakaTravel
