Speaking of Hideyoshi and cherry blossom viewing, the "Daigohanohanami" is famous. The fourth photo shows a cherry tree in front of the entrance to Sanzenin Temple in Kyoto, where the DNA of a 160-year-old weeping cherry tree has been inherited through advanced biotechnology. It's small now, but it's fun to imagine how much bigger it will be when I visit it a few decades from now. Visiting every year and recording its growth is one of the joys of traveling.
