Having been to Osaka many times, this was my first time trying Kamukura Ramen. I've heard that Kamukura Ramen is one of the most representative ramens in Osaka, famous for its secret soy sauce cabbage-based broth.
From the north exit of the Nankai Electric Railway, you can see Kamukura Ramen right at the Namba Nankai Street Entrance. There's an ordering machine outside the entrance with Japanese, Chinese, and English interfaces. I chose the gyoza set meal and was seated on the second floor. The restaurant mostly has bar-type seating, making it comfortable even for solo diners. When the ramen was served, you could see the clear soy sauce broth topped with cabbage and char siu. The salty and slightly sweet soy sauce, combined with the refreshing vegetable broth, was irresistible, and I found myself finishing the soup. Those who love char siu might be a bit disappointed because it's thinly sliced, but the overall portion of the set meal is quite generous. The gyoza served hot, with a bit of vinegar and chili oil added, made for a heartwarming meal on this cool, rainy night.
