Osaka JR Sakuranomiya, a station name full of spring cherry blossom romance, truly has a famous cherry blossom viewing spot—Kema Sakuranomiya Park—right outside the station. Located along both banks of the upper Okawa River, spanning Osaka City's Miyakojima and Kita wards, this riverside park has been a renowned cherry blossom viewing area since the Edo period.
Sakuranomiya Park consists of Nantenma Park, Kema Park, and Buson Park, collectively known as Kema Sakuranomiya Park, stretching 4.2 kilometers. Every spring, over 4,000 cherry trees bloom in the park, creating a spectacular pink scene along both sides of the river. You can walk all the way to Tenmabashi and the Mint Bureau, where the cherry blossoms are beautifully in full bloom.
