Picnic at Gran Green

I visited Gran Green, the newest park located at Umeda Station in Osaka, which just opened last fall🌳

Gran Green is a park that opened in September 2024 as part of the second phase of redevelopment at Umeda North Exit!
Since it’s a major redevelopment project in Umeda, the world-renowned architect SANNA and Tadao Ando were involved in the design✨

The park is in a prime location right outside Umeda Station, and since it was a weekend, it was bustling with lots of people!!

There are many stylish cafes in front of the park🍰
I bought cake and coffee at one of those cafes and had a picnic!🍪💖

There are three main attractions I felt when I actually visited this park!
Attraction ① Stylish cafes!
There are many shops with delicious-looking cakes, crepes, and ice cream like in the photos! They also sell savory foods like sandwiches🥪!
It’s wonderful to be able to have a pleasant picnic anytime✨

Attraction ② You can borrow leisure sheets!
In the wagon on the right side of the third photo, leisure sheets and such are available! Since many people come to play at this park, they may not always be available, but depending on the timing, you might be able to borrow one☺️
I was lucky to borrow one! It’s amazing to be able to picnic without bringing anything!
When I went to the wagon, there were also magnifying glasses available🔍

Attraction ③ Fun for both kids and adults!!!
This park has a large water play area💦 On the day I went, it was a warm day around 25°C, so many children were playing👶💦 They looked like they were having a great time!!
The park is very spacious, with people having picnics, sunbathing, exercising, and many others! Anyone can enjoy it!!

This park is still under development! The area on the far side of the station is scheduled to be completed in spring 2026☘️!
It’s sure to be even more fun!!!
