This article introduces several easily accessible venues where you don’t need to wait in long lines and can enjoy the exhibits even during busy reservation intervals.
First is the Osaka Health Care Pavilion, a very popular venue. Besides the reservation and long queues for experiencing future medical technology, the left passage offers a fast-track entry without waiting. Fifty years ago, the Osaka Expo proposed the concept of a bathing machine, and today many Japanese care institutions have similar designs. This time, 50 years later, the bathing machine not only includes physiological data monitoring and adjusts water temperature based on age and physical condition but also aims to be a machine that cleanses body, mind, and spirit. Further inside is the iPS cell patch display area, showcasing medical advancements where iPS cell layers can treat severe heart diseases. You can also see actual iPS cell patches in petri dishes.

Another venue with almost no lines is the United Arab Emirates Pavilion, which uses the imagery of date palms and fills the space with the sweet scent of frankincense to create a Middle Eastern atmosphere. Inside, it introduces space development and traditional culture, and the shop sells clothing and unique souvenirs.

The EXPO Hall is the main pavilion of the Expo, continuing the legacy of the Sun Tower from 50 years ago. Its dome is coated in gold, and from a distance, it looks like a hole in the sky, creating a sci-fi optical illusion. At night, 109 collected animation works are projected onto the shiny hat-like exterior wall. If you have time, you can rest on a chair and enjoy animations from around the world.

The Australia Pavilion was actually the one I drew a ticket for seven days ago. Later, I found out you only need to wait about 1 to 2 minutes to enter. The first exhibition area is themed around forests, trying to let visitors experience Australia’s nature through sounds and scents. The second area features unique multi-screen images showcasing Australia’s marine nature and biodiversity. In the evening, there are singer performances and beer stalls where you can enjoy a drink and feel the charm of Australian music.

Finally, the Night Earth Pavilion features a one-meter diameter globe of the night made using the traditional craft of Wajima lacquerware. Wajima lacquerware is a technique passed down since the Muromachi period in the Noto Peninsula, a region heavily affected by earthquakes. This lacquerware is so precious that a single bowl can cost tens of thousands of yen.
